Higher Clinical Training Institute Douala launches Training Courses for Nurses


-Evening Classes Available for Working Class students

 The Higher Clinical Training Institute (HICTI) Mambanda, Douala has launched a training programme for those who wish to pursue a career in Nursing. 

Text books to be used during the training programme according to the Medical Director have already been supplied by the British Medical Association (BMA).

He also intimated that Graduates of HICTI Douala are certified by an American University. “They receive Advanced International Diplomas, BSc and Masters Degrees” he said.

Meantime, students will receive lectures from very experienced Lecturers with not less than 5 years of experience in the nursing field.

Among other things, studies at HICTI Douala use the 30% theory and 70% practical approach.

Students also benefit from two months of paid internship in any hospital or clinic of their choice.

Students with a stronger financial situation will have the possibility of going on internship out of Cameroon.

According to the Medical Director, Dr. Gwewasang Martin, HICTI is accredited by the Cameroon Association of Registered Nurses and Midwives (CARNM) and by the International Trade Council (ITC).

HICTI he further revealed is affiliated to many Organisations, Hospitals, Health Centers and Clinics in 127 countries.

Within Cameroon, HICTI is affiliated to more than 50  Hospitals and Clinics. These according to the Medical Director include the Presbyterian Health Complex at Bepanda in Douala, the Military Hospital, the Bonanjo and Bonassama District Hospitals in Douala, Acha Hospitals in Bafoussam and Douala, Lacquitini Hospital in Douala, St Augustine Clinic at Ndobo in Douala amongst many others where students could go for internships.

Two daily uniforms and one official wear uniform will be provided by the Institution.

While the establishment facilitates the procurement of employment at the end of  one or two years of training, graduates irrespective of their levels will have relatively the same advantages in the job market.

The institution provides limited free accommodation for a period of nine months

In the same vein, the management of the Higher Clinical Training Institute ( HICTI) has also launched an evening nursing training program for the working class. In this category, students have 540 hours to cover in 9 or 18 months depending on their entry level qualifications.  Graduating students according to the School Management will be certified by an American University with an Advanced International Diploma in nursing, a Bsc and a Masters in Reproductive Health.
