MAFLEKUMEN HIGHER INSTITUTE OF HEALTH SCIENCES

 This  Tertiary   Training  Institution  was  Authorized  and  Accredited by  Prime  Ministerial decision No: 001845/10/04/2008 and the Ministry  of  Higher  Education  No : 08/0113/MINESUP/05/05/08 to  run a Medical   and  Biomedical  Sciences Faculty at  the Higher  National  Diploma  (HND) Level with   the following   specialties:  

Nursing  Sciences,  Medical  Laboratory Sciences   and  Health  Care  Management.

To    further   enhance  the  NGO,s  capacity   to  train   health  personnel,  the  Maflekumen  Higher  Institute  signed  a  Memorandum  of  Understanding MOU with  the University  of  Buea for  Mentorship, Monitoring , Supervision  and Evaluation   of its  Bachelors   Degree  Programs  in  Nursing  Sciences   and  Medical  Laboratory  Sciences  in  June  2009.

COURSES THEREFORE OFFERED INCLUDE:

HND  –  Nursing  –    3 Years Duration

HND – Med Lab  Sciences – 3 Years  Duration

HND –Health Care  Management – 2  Years  Duration

HND –BSc  Nursing  – 1  Year  Duration

HND-BSc  Med  Lab  Sciences  – 1 Year  Duration

ADMISSION   CRITERIA

Admission  is  by  Direct  Entry   Selection  and  Interview.

ADMISSION   PERIOD

Admission  Period  span  from June  – September yearly.  Admission  Application  Package  available on Campus  at  CFA  5.000

ADMISSION   ELIGIBILITY

Candidates interested  in  HND  Nursing,  Medical Laboratory Sciences  and  Health Care management  must have  at  least  GCE  Advanced Level  in  Two  Subjects  excluding   Religion.

Candidates  interested in BSc Nursing    or  Medical  Lab  Sciences  must   have  HND Certificate plus  GCE Ordinary  Level  English  Language. This  being a  Criteria   for  the  University of  Buea  BSc Degree  Mentorship  Program.

ONLINE   ADMISSION

For  Candidates  who  want  to  secure  admission  Online.  They  are  requested   to  forward  Scanned  copies  of  their   G.C.E  A / O  Level  Certificates, Telephone Numbers alongside a  Letter  applying   for  Admission in  any  of  the  Stated   Programs to  the  Email  Address :  Maflekumentiko@yahoo.com.

Upon   reception   of   their  mail  a  telephone  interview  shall   be  arranged between   the  Institution  and  the Applicant Candidate. A Letter of Offer of Admission  shall   be  forwarded   to  them   by  email  or  Surface mail  after   a  successful   interview.

This   is   the   second   off spring   of   the   Training   of   Health   Personnel   Program  of   Maflekumen   Community  Health  Society    NGO.  This   Professional   School  was Authorized  and  Accredited  by   the  Ministry  of   Public  Health  in  May 2012  with  Authorization  N0 : 0402/D/MINSANTE/SESP/SG/DHR/14/05/12    to  operate   training   Cycles   for  State  Registered   Nurses   and  Training  Cycles   for  State  Medical  Laboratory  Technicians.

ADMISSION PROGRAMS/CONDITIONS

State  Registered  Nursing   –  3   Years  Duration

State  Med Lab. Technicians –  3  Years   Duration

ADMISSION   CRITERIA

Admission   is   by    Government  Organized  Competitive  Examination (Concour)  between  the months  of  June  and  July   yearly.  Successful    Candidates    in   this   competitive   Examination   are then  posted   by   the  Ministry  of  Public   Health  into   the   respective  Government    and   Private    accredited  Training    Schools.

ACADEMIC   REQUIREMENTS

Candidates    must   have   GCE    <A>   Levels  in  at  least   two   Subjects  Religion  Inclusive. Candidates   must   be  below  the   age  of  35  years .

COMPETITIVE   EXAMINATION   REQUIREMENTS

Application   Form  obtained    from   the  Respective  Regional  Delegation  for  Public  Health  upon  launching   of   the  Examination   by   the  Minister  of  Public  Health.

A  stamp Application  to   the  Minister   of  Public  Health

A  certified  true   copy  of  Birth  Certificate/ I.D card  not  less  than  3  months  old.

An  Attestation  of  Originals   of  Certificates  /Diploma

A  Certificate  of   Non  Conviction

A  Registration  Fee   Stipulated  by  the  Minister  of  Public  Health.

NB :  All  the  above  documents  are   deposited  in   any  of  Regional  Delegation   for  Public  Health.
